Well....wait a minute. 18-25 year olds...only 4 ??? (so far).

I would have thought it to be much higher than that...but then the drinking age in the US is 21.

Hmmm...Go figure. (My curse).

Welcome SoberCAH.

My daughter was born in 57.

She would be your age, but the drugs and alcohol killed her in 87.

Alcoholism is my major disease despite living sober for 28 years 8 months and 4 days.

COOL! I remember well last year when I was 56 and born in '56. In a week I'll be 58 and still born in '56, boring! :-)

Thanks for sharing this, grtgrandpa.

I am sure sorry that alcohol and drugs shortened your daughter's life at such a young age.

I have been sober since September 22, 1988.

My sobriety is the most important thing in my life everyday, and I attribute my sobriety to God and AA in that order.

Outstanding SoberCAH, what a blessing to be in recovery earlier in life.

I have lost 2 son-in-laws in their late 50s this year who drank alcoholically.

I was just as sick as my 2 daughters who passed, but I am living in recovery by the grace of God.

The point of this thread for me is live sober, and trudge the road of happy destiny.

Thanks for sharing your sobriety date and age.

Being 22, I can honestly say being an alcoholic is an accepted lifestyle at my age. If you're drinking nightly in college...you're a normal college kid, but still doing it at 30 and you're an alcoholic. Alcoholism can develop from behavior that should even be accepted in the first place. If you're drinking nightly and get hammered...you're an alcoholic. It doesn't matter how old you are.

Just a matter of time before it messes you up, big time. By then it can be very tough to stop and turn things around. It's a shame so many of us have to learn that the hard way. Many, very, very hard.

"Insidious, baffling and powerful" is dead on. Not to be toyed with.

That's probably because they are more likely to be 'drunk-updating' on Facebook that on a forum like this.

Of course, being a mature 46-year-old female you would not catch me doing ANYTHING like that. Erm, well ............ not since last Sunday !!!

PS - the older ones over 60 need more votes anyway
