Update
Hi all,
Update on this post
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...day-detox.html
I got out of detox today, feeling good! Hasn't crossed my mind to have a drink, though I am on anti craving medication. Weight loss has been a bit disappointing (only 2lbs) but I look healthier and feel a lot more energetic than usual.
I'm using an approach called Intuitive Recovery as my "schema" of thinking. It makes much more sense to me compared to AA and seems like something I could stick to.
Anyway, 8 days down.

Hi and good fortune to you. AA has always been FREE though like any successful program requires WORK on our part. Besides the low cost, perhaps $1 donation, it’s “staff” includes many with + 10 years sobriety to offer with their experience, strength and hope.
BE WELL
BE WELL
Nice work on 8 days, thanks for letting us know things are going well! Don't worry so much about the weight loss, you are very, very early in recovery - barely outside the acute withdrawal phase, it can take weeks or even months for your body to settle down into it's new routine.
Congrats on going thru the detox and making it over a week!! That's definitely an accomplishment!
Don't worry too much about the weight loss. As long as you're sober, and make sobriety a priority, you'll be able to work towards that goal. That's something I've been working on as well. 38 days in and eating healthy and exercise has really helped. Just take it a day at a time, and really work that recovery plan
