Starting Again. Day 1
Five months.
I was away last weekend.
From the moment I got to the airport, I began to think about drinking.
Just a quick whiskey, blah blah.
I used what I had learned in CBT to get through.
And I did.
I had a great weekend.
Life is good.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Cognitive behavioral therapy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It worked wonders for my drinking AND my anxiety.
I couldn't recommend it enough.

I don't really get cravings very often and when I do, they don't last very long.
Six months sober.
It's been a great six months.
Difficult at the beginning, but it gets much easier.
And IT IS 100% worth it.
I was drinking and then staying sober for a month or two and then...
And I wasn't getting anywhere.
Anybody struggling, please try hang in there.

Seven and a half months y'all!!
Difficult time for me- best friend in London got run over by a car last month and is fighting for his life.
Difficult because of that but not because of booze, thankfully.
I hope everyone is well and fighting the good fight.

One year sober, friends.
I cannot stress the benefit of sticking with it.
No AA, no God, just me. And some CBT.
Folks, we are not trapped or hostages to alcohol. We just need to take respobsibility and realise that the bad stuff will pass relatively quickly and that the discomfort at the start does not last long and even when you go through it, it's not the worst thing .
Keep the faith, friends, and believe in yourselves.
