Dr. just called with my lab tests
I know I am new here but I have basically posted my situation on here. He just called me and said it was actually better than expected although I still have some damage there and ultrasound will tell more.
Blood work is follows:
Blood counts: fine
PGI and R (If I got that right) It is measurement of how blood clots and that was fine
Bilirubin: Elevated at 2.7. This is what is causing my slight jaundice
Liver Enzymes: OK
Not putting me on Lasix, he said a low sodium diet and no alcohol will get the bloat down within a week.
I am not out of the park but that is better than originally thought I guess. Will know more with ultrasound.
And I know "don't drink". No desire too.

Hi Klime,
The best thing you can do for yourself is make a recovery plan to keep from returning to alcohol. That and following the diet your MD recommended will probably take the Bili down over time.
I think SR has great support too.
Your blood clotting tests were likely INR and PT and/or PTT.

And the truth is even the Dr. yesterday just gave an opinion based off blood work. There is still something going on with liver, just don't know the severity yet.
Not really. Its not like I would take everything a poster says as the word of God. Wasn't necesarily asking for diagnosis; more so an opinion. It is helpful when people share similar experiences. I realize if you and I drank the same amount over 3 years, once could be perfectly healthy and the other not.

After nearly 30 years of heavy drinking, I had all sorts of health problems (elevated liver enzymes, high blood pressure, anxiety, etc). They all went away after I stopped drinking. I wish you well.
