When I was drinking like a fish, it never entered my pickled mind if I was choosing to drink or not. It didn't matter to me then as my life crumbled before my eyes. Choice or no choice wasn't an issue then and now I don't think of subject in such a black and white way.

Alcoholism IMO is a brain disorder. One that severely effects the judgment centers of the brain. What good choices dose a person make with a jacked-up brain I wonder

I believe brain disorder is definitely a major symptom but the root cause is a spiritual malady.

I can tell you for sure that once I (finally) started addressing my spiritual malady, as suggested in the Big Book, my stinking thinking has all but disappeared.
