occasionally I just like to count days sober
It put me in mind of some threads here when someone comments on a way that they handle their own sobriety and it's followed by a passive aggressive response with the underlying message as to how it should be done.
There is NO wrong way to get sober and to maintain that sobriety. If it's working for you and you're happy then who is anyone else to judge?
wishing for you a blessed sober day

congratulations!
I reckon if you put a gun to my head i could tell you how many days I've been sober but I prefer to put my energy into that which is before me, not that which is behind.
Example-
Last night I learned from a 101 year old man that just ran his 10th marathon that the inclusion of broccoli, green tea and spirulina into your daily diet will increase your energy level and life expectancy tremendously.
I'm going to add these items to my grocery list today.
Good luck and God Bless

never used that one but anything is possible if looking
I think they may have been looking for a cheesy reason to drink
sometimes anything will work as an excuse
reminds me that I now have 2,230 and 1/2 days
no I'm not going to count the half's now
but
I still remember when I couldn't get even one day (never to forget)
MM
my Sponsor has something like 24 years sober now
on most days he knows exactly how many days he is sober -- right to the day
my memory is nothing like that
but -- my computer tells me that I have 2,237 days sober today
these are special days for me
this time sobering up I did one thing different
I also stopped taking my prescription pills (prescribed by more than one doctor)
the pills were something that I truly did not need
I just stroked the doctors so as to get my little (so called help me over this stress pills)
twice before I had close to three years without a drink
but
I was taking massive amounts of pills
not then or now would I consider that being truly sober
even though back then I deceived myself into thinking that I was sober
took a couple year token once from my Sponsor just after popping 3 or 4 valium
I couldn't wait to get out of that AA meeting as I was getting very light headed
thank God
today I know what real sobriety is
something to be very grateful for

that's what brings much joy to the rest of us here
seeing others in their early stages of recovery
the newcomer is of most importance
((such a blessing))

the thoughts don't get us drunk - the drink does
let's not forget DarkDays
you are not acting out on your thoughts
that is of what's of most importance
hang tight
these thoughts usually go away
as we play the tape through
oh yes - I (we) remember how it really was back in the old drinking days
not to forget - yes - today truly is so much better being sober
the thoughts don't get us drunk - the drink does

Thanks Bob !
The thought of been back in the trap again is just horrible, yet the big trap of addiction/obsession/hangover .
I am ok. its the brainwashing and conditioning after 25 years of poisoning ones self that sometimes still tries to breakthrough your Sober mind.
Thanks.

knowing much better
I wonder where the heck that comes from
if the devil has a voice - that would be it
my Sponsor calls booze the liquid devil
