Yes and No. Between binges Yes. While binging No. Drinking myself comfortably numb would chase them away - for awhile.:wall:

Pretty much same for me. I felt good while drinking and felt pretty bad when I wasn't.

I was depressed but I don't know if I'd say it was really dark, never suicidal or anything. The anxiety attacks however I wouldn't wish on anybody.

I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist with depression years ago before I was much of a drinker. Towards the end of my drinking, the depression and anxiety were unbearable. That is what finally drove me to quit. After I got sober, the depression lifted almost as if by magic.

I still deal with my mental health issues, but I can actually deal with them in a healthy way now, in a way that actually works, instead of making things so much worse by drinking.

That's what happened to me ,Alochol quit working ,It would not relive the depression -it caused .

Kind of a circle -to nowhere .

Hi karate, yes I did. Alcohol is a depressant. The further I got away from the alcohol, the better. Hugs to you.
