I average 4/week, sometimes 5 if there's a speaker meeting. Aside from the effect of keeping me focused on my recovery, the groups I frequent have become like family. That's important to me because I really have no family right now. There is a fundamental understanding of each other in the rooms that is often unspoken. But just like with any other family dynamic, there are some members you love to be around, and others you just tolerate. We're still only human.

I think I average between 3 and 5 per week, but some weeks I'll hit more and some less. My work schedule seems to drive when I can get to some meetings. I'm fortunate that there are around 50 meetings per week around our city so I have a lot of choices. Sometimes the personalities of the rooms drive which one I attend. My early morning home group meetings have gotten more negative lately, so I tend to drive across town to a non-cussing meeting.

Amazing how many AAers cuss, both men and some of the women.

I think that part of sobriety is cleaning up my tongue.

I attended a meeting yesterday it was good for me.

There is a sign hanging in one of the meeting rooms I frequent that says, "Absence of profanity offends no one." Some people aren't phased by it, but most keep it civilized.

My home group meets in a church building and in the readings each day they ask for those to not use profanity yet some although not drinking just seem to never be able to follow directions.

I am similar- my MWF have become my regular midday; my sponsor and I meet for an hour or so every Sun and I go to a meeting before or after that. My work schedule is not the same every day and is about to change further, so I have been experimenting with different times (730 am, for example). 4 to 6 is reasonable and good for me- my main criteria beyond just going is to ALWAYS go when I DON'T want to. A lot of long term folks have told me that, and it's sage advice.

Sunday

God willing and the creek don't rise
I will be hitting my home group meeting tomorrow morning.
Helps to keep me centered.
And never to forget how it was.
What happened.
And how it is now.

A nice sober day wished for all,
M-Bob

Birdies eating and hanging out all over the place here at our home. They can go through feed pretty fast. The wife and I are very grateful that we have the monies to feed the many critters here.

Hit my homegroup meeting this morning.
That's what I do.
I keep coming back.

A nice sober evening wished for all,
M-Bob

Add squirrels, black ones, to the mix and the seed really goes. We love all our birdies though. We are mainly focused on feeding our hummers now til around mid September. We still throw lots of seed on the lawns for our other birds and critters.

It is like therapy and meditation. Adds well to the meetings and everything else.

how many 12 Step Meetings do you attend ?

Well, it's Thursday and the wife and I just got back from vacation yesterday.

We were up in Idyllwild for a few days and we got to visit some old AA friends of ours.
I get to hit one out of town AA meeting while up there.

Now first full day back in town and I think it to be best to check in with my home group AA meeting on this morning.

Why ?
Because this sober thing mixed with AA meetings and church has been working for a long time now.

Don't stop doing what you have been doing that helps you (us) to stay sober.

A nice sober day wished for all,
M-Bob

Guess I'll try to get to an AA meeting this morning.
Been a while and a few AA friends are wondering where I am.
A nice sober day wished for all,
