Sleep help
So I had trouble sleeping and someone told me about chakras, did some research found some meditations by Jodi whitley for anxiety and sleep help, it was really weird to me the first couple of times but its just positive messages about letting go just for right now so you can relax. Sometimes it helps me a lot. I am on day one dreading not sleeping. But I do like the saying " no one ever died from lack of sleep" it kinda helps me not spin out worrying about it. Hope this helps someone!
Before using melatonin, please read the sticky in the sleep area of the forum. I'm also having a great deal of trouble getting to sleep & staying asleep. Until morning. I'm asleep when that alarm rings, happily & soundly, & it takes everything I've got to rise and shine.
But wait, talking about melatonin. I started taking it & I did get to sleep easily, but started getting headaches & was day-drowsy. Read the sticky & decided it wasn't right for me.
I stopped taking it & am back to difficulty sleeping. I'm at 7 weeks.

In my experience it's nothing physiological, it's more psychological.
Mind racing, head just won't shut up. It's part of why we drink, shuts up the chatter.
Some folks find it just subsides with time, others will be driven back to drink after years just to get some mental peace. (my experience)
Others make the supreme sacrifice.
If it's not subsiding after a year or so. It's probably not going to.
