Four days down the drain

Drank to steady my hand for an interview ... interview was at 4 drank a pint at 11. Totally worked did ok until I was leaving and the tremors started in. Saying goodbye was so embarassing. And there goes four days.

Maybe you should call a doctor and just focus on detoxing. Don't have anything else on your plate- do what they say and then hopefully they can help you set up a plan for your recovery.

Those days weren't down the drain, there is a great lesson to be learned here... a priceless lesson.
Take your lesson to the next level of your recovery.

Best of luck !!

I don't think you wasted those days at all but you do need to learn from them. What are you going to do different the next time? Keep at it, you can do this.

This is my third time getting sober over the past year. My two relapses were awful and I hated myself for them at the time, but they taught me a LOT about my alcoholism and I wouldn't trade this knowledge for the world. It has helped me this time around and this time I know I will have success because I'm doing things VERY differently.

I go with some of the other suggestions here that it might be helpful to seek some medical assistance for your detox symptoms. My withdrawals were part of the reason I went back to drinking. I also had very terrible shakes, totally debilitating. This time I had medical intervention and it made all the difference. It might make the difference for you as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, most people get nervous during interviews, so don't worry about your shakes. As for your pint, it's no reason not to keep trying. Keep your eyes on the big prize.

Please don't let this stop you from finding sobriety again.
I too had false starts before I actually quit and stayed quit.

Welcome back Carol

i'm with everyone else - slipping up doesn't mean you instantly erase all the lessons you've learnt. The goal is not to get X days sober, it's to live a sober, happy life. You can do it.

My hands shook on occasion for several months after my last drink because I'd drank enough to give myself more than the usual amount of nerve damage. Yours may go on for some time too.

Drinking the same day or the day prior to interviews only makes you smell boozey, look bad and keeps you unable to approximate the manner and responses of a desirable prospective employee. Though you believe it helps it instead hurts.
