Moon Cycle Urges

I've read that many people in the process of withdrawal experience a spike in urges on an approximate moon cycle; 30 days, 60 days, 120 days, 6 months, a year, and 2 years.

Yesterday was day 32 for me and I definitely had that jacked up, antsy, scattered, couldn't focus, easy to get mad kind of feeling. Before I quit drinking (and learned that my alcohol altered limbic system is responsible for initiating these emotions) I used to feed that feeling, because it meant I would buying some booze within a couple hours.

Anybody else experience big time urges on something close to a moon cycle? I've also read that they diminish in frequency and intensity with time, is that true?

Murray

Alcoholism leaves you living between your last drunk and your next drink,
and that space just keeps getting tighter and tighter all the time until it crushes you.
When there is no next drink, you're free!!

I've heard this too! Someone had a link to PAWs that mentioned it.

In a way it makes sense to me, we are made of water, the moon effects water, wherever the moon was when we quit we will be back at the same cycle every 28 days (moon is actually not on a 30 day schedule:-)
