Hi Guys I am back again. Has anyone experienced or knows some one that has had Alcohol Neuropathy? I am not looking for doctors advice...just everyones experiences. Mine is getting worse and am going to see my doc B4 chrissie. It is quite frustrating as booze is the only thing that is helping right now...and that is dumb as that is what is causing it. Has anyone recovered from it or had good pain relief & what worked? I am so glad that this site exists. Hope everyone is doing OK. J |

Only thing I could suggest immediately would be Vitamin B Complex. You might want to try also taking a Multivitamin, eating protein bars, anything to help the nutrients back into your body that you are losing everytime you drink. Good Luck. |

you could always try the recovery and pain management forum as well. I'm not a doctor, but I can say pretty confidently that continuing to drink isn't going to cure it.

The only thing I know that works is hydrocodone or lortab. Of course alcohol works perfectly but the side effects are worse. I've still got the problem after 6.5 years of sobriety. What the doctor told me is true. It doesn't get any better but it doesn't get any worse either. On a positive note.....it is a constant reminder of what I was doing to myself. Good luck to you........

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has reversed neuropathy. I have muscle spasms and numb feet. My neuro says it should go away withing six months meaning the nerves heal and regenerate. Has anyone been through this. I am now 40 days sober. thanks |

I replied to your last thread. Alcoholic neuropathy was an issue for me in early recovery. Pins and needles in my hands and feet. It took at least six weeks of solid sobriety for it to go away. I took only the drugs prescribed by my doctor at the time, plus a B-complex, including Folic Acid, which I'm told helps.
