I have been completely abstaining from alcohol for a little over six months. I abused alcohol for several years. Somehow, I don't think I ever became chemically dependent on alcohol. Lucky for me! I have stopped drinking by becoming very involved with my local AA group. I love the program. I tried to quit by myself for many years. Not until I gave up and started getting help from the folks at AA did I have any success. I am realistic and know that I could screw up at anytime. Fortunately, I have daily reprieve from drinking based on what decisions I make everyday. I love AA! I decided to join this forum so that I could have this fellowship in addition to AA. I hope to get to know some of you folks better over time! Keep coming back, it works if you work it. Easy does it. Bye for now! |
