I just got an email from EAP about drug free work place. I am a prime example of why "not to take an alcoholic to work." Not that I am drinking at work, but my drinking is really affecting my whole life, work, especially. I know I need help but I do feel lost. |

Well. If you're drinking is affecting your whole life and your work it's probably a good idea to do something about it. Depending on how much you drink (and don't lie, we can tell a mile away) may have a bearing in the solution. If your company's EAP is a good one, they may spring for an in-house rehab. But in any event, it's critical that you see your doctor and tell him what's going on. You may well need his help going through detox if the EAP folks won't spring for that. And once you've detoxed, I suggest you go to some AA meetings. The aa number is in the phone book and is manned 24/7, so they can tell you where the closest meetings are. And go to several until you find one you're really comfortable with. And with that, my friend, you're off and running. Oh, one more thing, no more drinking. Sorry, it's part of being sober.

I'm seriously considering going to EAP tomorrow. This year my absenteeism has grown exponentially. I told my boss I'm suffering from anxiety and chronic insomnia which is also true. It also sounds better than saying I can't come in because I stayed out all night drinking. |

Whoa! We may have started something here! It's a trend. No. It's a Movement!!! Ok everybody, if you haven't done so, but really should and are able to, go see your EAP. See what you've started, Sadintenn? Way to go!
