| The Shakes
From your experience... how long does it take for the shakes to go away completely. The shakiness of my hands is still here a week later. I'm beginning to wonder if there could be another reason for it in addition to alcohol withdrawal. I'm not experiencing any major uncontrolled movement like I have in the past... my hands are just shaky. |

Hi..... ![]() Seeing your doctor is a wise idea. There is no way to know what is going on unless you do. You need to be totally honest with your doctor about your drinking so he/she will know what test beed to be done...if any. Other members experiences are not important Concerning our health....each of us are uniquely special. ![]() Well done on your early sobriety . moving forward is he way to go....

Sometimes I quit and got the shakes bad and sometimes I barely noticed them. Same quantities of alcohol. It will smooth out sooner or later, just be patient. On the plus side, this may be the last time you ever have them... its up to you

Give 'time' "TIME".... I've got a sneaky suspicion that you'll see such improvement with sobriety, diet and exercise! I speak from my opinion and experience. Take GOOD care of YOU!

Generally the shakes should go away after your body is detoxed and not physically dependent on alcohol, so generally after 5 days, though some people are different, and it also could just be stress or medication you are taking that is making it happen.
