| Librium
Dear All I just wondered if anyone has been given librium from the doc to detox from drink. I knew if I could just break the habit for one week then I would stand a better chance of stopping drinking for good. Prior to this I managed to get my drinking down to 2/3 cans of lager late at night. The doc gave me librium to take for a week 10mg in each capsule. For some reason the chemist gave me 28 rather than 19 and for the first 4 days I took more than I should have done but on the last 2 days took 2 pills and then 1 pill. That's been 10 days without a drink. I don't feel like a drink but just wondered if the feelings of being a bit anxious, trouble getting to sleep and some weird dreams could be from the librium withdrawal rather than the drink withdrawal? |

I took librium/benzo's for a long time. The symptoms you are having are common from withdrawal from either one. It takes time for your body to get back to normal but it does get better.

| .....Welcome to SR and our Alcoholism Forum. As you are not drinking and no longer using a benzo..IMO it really does not matter exactly which is causing withdrawal. I would check with your doctor for his/her advice. Congratulations on chooseing a new healthy life!
