Librium - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Dear All

I just wondered if anyone has been given librium from the doc to detox from drink. I knew if I could just break the habit for one week then I would stand a better chance of stopping drinking for good. Prior to this I managed to get my drinking down to 2/3 cans of lager late at night. The doc gave me librium to take for a week 10mg in each capsule. For some reason the chemist gave me 28 rather than 19 and for the first 4 days I took more than I should have done but on the last 2 days took 2 pills and then 1 pill.

That's been 10 days without a drink. I don't feel like a drink but just wondered if the feelings of being a bit anxious, trouble getting to sleep and some weird dreams could be from the librium withdrawal rather than the drink withdrawal?

Quite possible, ask the doc about the Librium?

Keep up the good work in NOT drinking...!

I took librium/benzo's for a long time. The symptoms you are having are common from withdrawal from either one. It takes time for your body to get back to normal but it does get better.

As you are not drinking and no longer using a benzo..IMO
it really does not matter exactly which is causing withdrawal.

I would check with your doctor for his/her advice.
