Blurred Vision All of a Sudden

8 days out this time and the last two days my near-vision has been blurred. Trouble reading the computer screen, for example---a pill bottle---forget it.

Anybody else had this happen unpredictably? I was fine day before yesterday---kinda scary. I've been sleeping, eating right, and drinking probably 20 glasses of water a day.

BTW, I wear glasses---bad near-sightedness w/out them. I've had blurred vision in withdrawal before---but not this far out, I don't think.

No matter what anyone says here, maybe they can relate, maybe they have a guess as to what it is, whatever, it doesn't matter...

PLEASE - see a doctor.

My intention was not to come across rude, so if I did, I apoligize.

Just concerned - blurred vision can be quite serious.

No, I appreciate it. Just MORE scared, now. I've read enough about the manifestations of neuropathies. Point taken.

Toomutch, noticed your hometown. Were you there in '99? I don't want to stir up any bad memories---I'm just the curious sort...

Yes I was. We knew the teacher/ basketball coach that was killed that day. The school was visible from my house. This community is still tramatized.

Only wise thing to do is see an optomologist quickly.
Just too be safe....I'd be heading to an ER
where they have optomologist on call.

Prayers coming your way

Still going to the ER in the morning, but I may have found out a known side effect of a drug that I just started taking for help w/ sleep/BP: Clonidine.

Opthalmological; Blurred vision; burning of the eyes and dryness of the eyes.

Pretty much got all three. Let's hope.

Try not to assume the worst.

About every 2 years, I wake up after only 2 or 3 hours of sleep with a stabbing pain behind my right eye. These head aches usually last for about a week or two and then go away for another two years.

When I first started getting them, with my paranoid mind, I though I had a brain tumor.

I had a CT scan and one of the best radiologist MD's in the state to look at my images and said that everything looked fine. They call what I have cluster head aches.

Don't assume that worst, it's not worth the wasted energy.

Looking forward to hearing back on your doctors visit, maybe if it is the med they prescibed they can give you something different.

Stopped taking my clonidine for sleep and today my vision seems quite a bit clearer. Got some Remeron for depression, and it's an excellent sleep aid, too.

Unfortunately, clonidine is good for taming alcohol cravings....
