32 Days Today

Hi. Just checking in and letting everyone know that I made it this far and got my 30 day chip a couple of days ago.

No questions for you "old timers" and others today, just letting you know that I'm still plugging away and things are actually going well. Not perfect, but certainly better than they were 33 days ago!

I'm still sticking to my hypoglycemic diet and getting to 4-5 meetings a week. Still no sponsor, but am making good progress and will start on the steps when I am ready. The steps still scare me, but not enough to run away from the program -- just enough to know that doing them right is going to take real effort. I will do them right and come out a better person for it. I know I will be turning to you all for some advice once I get started (consider yourselves warned!)

Another good thing is that I'm forming what I consider to be the basis of real friendships in a couple of meetings and looking forward to more. First new friends in a long while...

I find myself not coming to this forum as much as I did the first couple of weeks, but still find lots of good advice and inspiration here and I will continue checking in.

Maybe it's just fear of the unknown. I had a lot of misconceptions about the steps before I did them. Things I thought would be impossible or frightening didn't turn out that way at all. It did involve an awful lot of work, but not an awful lot of work all at once. I did some work which prepared me for the next bit of work, and so on. That seems to be the way they're designed. I never hit anything I wasn't ready for, but I did have problems with laziness and procrastination.
