Wow!

I am always impressed (and sometimes bowled over) by Laurie's posts... Seems like she's made a whole lot of keen observations in her 25 years of sobriety!

Thank you very much.

No great advice, just KEEP TRUDGIN, like my signature says especially when you trudgin thru alligators up to your butt.

You know for a long time I thought all those 'sayings' on the walls of the meeting rooms were pretty "corny." However, I have found they are so true.
Like "No Matter What, DON'T DRINK." That one says it all.

And Low and Behold, the bad times pass, I find another stressful situation that I have worked and walked through, not run away from. Wow, it amazes me as much as anybody else.

I was suppose to be dead at 30. Doctors gave my husband and my parents no hope at all. I sure proved them wrong, roflmao. Didn't even get sober until 3 weeks shy of my 36th birthday. In sobriety, I learned how to change my stubborness from a defect into an asset of tenacity.

Every one of you can do it, One Day At A Time. Carol D is a beautiful example of that. She too has been to H*ll and back sober, and look at the Wisdom, care, and compassion that comes out of her fingertips. That my friends comes from working a program of recovery, be it AA or something else.

May the difference in our sobriety dates remain the same.

Love and hugs,

Laurie............I THOROUGHLY enjoy your sobriety and posts.

This line stood out for me: "In sobriety, I learned how to change my stubborness from a defect into an asset of tenacity."

Keep on keeping on!

CONGRATS!!!

Laurie,
I'm so sorry I missed your sobriety date/anniversary! Wow, 25 years, that's awesome! I'm so grateful to you...the way you laid your hand out to me in my times of pain and helped walk me through. You are certainly a fantastic example of sobriety and a responsible member of AA. When my hand reached out...you were there. I'm very grateful to you for that.

My HP knew what He was doing when He put you and a couple of other folks from this site intimitely into my life. You certainly have blessed and enhanced my sobriety. I think of you quite often, Laurie. I hope that your anniversary went well (duh, I'm sure it did). I hope you're smiling today - I'm sending you a big "cyper" hug and kiss. Your openness has meant so much to me.

Thanks again, Laurie....and a huge HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you!!! Thanks for being such a great example!!

Love,
Jen
