Nice that's awesome! Everytime you challenge the temptation to drink and choose yourself over it... YOU get a little stronger. Good job and hang in there honey. Suga

| Hi OnceNice
Hi OnceNice, I'm Steve, an alkie from England, Today's my 4366th day without alcohol thanks to AA, Today is the only day that I need to worry about because, Yesterday is History and Tomerrow's a mystery, but Today's a gift......thats why it's called the Present. Please keeeeeeeeeeeeeeep Coming Back because it does get better, and better. and it say's in the Big Book, "Life will take on new meaning. To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends—this is an experience you must not miss. We know you will not want to miss it. Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives. " I love that part of Chapter 7. Congratulations for not taking that first dring Today. Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep Coming Back Steve4366

STEP ONE: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol -- that our lives had become unmanageable. "We know that little good can come to any alcoholic who joins A.A. unless he has first accepted his devastating weakness and all its consequences....The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered." c. 1952, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, pages 21-22

Thanks Miss C. I'm trying to decide what to do tonight instead of drink. I am kinda having a hard time sleeping though. I wake up all night and then in the day I'm soo tired. I felt shakey in the morning, but its kinda gone away, which surprises me since I don't drink in the morning, just at night. Anyway, I must admit I got the urge today, but Im gonna really try. At least my eyes aren't so red. I'm tired of the Visine. Besides I drank so much I don't think the Visine ever really worke.d To tonight. |

Why not hit a meeting? I found I couldn't stop drinking unless I did something about it. Hitting AA meetings was a start, but after a while I had to do something else, so I got someone to show me how to work the steps, and started working them. That combo has kept me from drinking alcohol for almost 9 years (Feb 5th will be my birthday)!

Thanks Jane. Getting close to going home. Night time is the hardest, but I must admit. I love coming on here the next day and telling you all that I did it! It does feel good. Maybe this will give me the incentive to walk into a meeting, you know. How everyone is supportive and all |
