| Meeting Wasn't There
My brother and I drove to a meeting tonight, I was looking forward to it because I was unable to make the last two nights. I really could've use the meeting as you may imagine. We got there and the meeting wasn't going on. This is the first time this has happened to me and I thought I'd share. Some AA asked us if the meeting was tonight...I said, yes, it should be, but doesn't look that way. I said to him, I guess we could have a parking lot meeting...lol. I mean, we could have, but we didn't. Isn't it strange there was no meeting, no announcement last week or anything? I guess the coffee maker was out to lunch, lol. Anyhow, I called my sponsor. He was not home. So, I am off to read the BB. Goodnight all. Rob

That is strange, the same thing happened to me and my sister once...she was going to come with me to a meeting (her first time) and we got there and it was all dark! So we poked around and behind the church there was this nice room with lights on and coffee, etc so of course she tries to be all brave and opens the door and goes "is this the aa meeting" and we're both standing there SMILING with these big grins on our faces (waiting to be warmly welcomed!) and these people were literally horrified and embarrassed and said no this is the Parent Teachers Association meeting!!! Gawd Maud, but there was a reason for that! Cathy31 x |
