wannabe?

i just know that when i have a drink i either feel depressed or gluggy-groggy-meh-bleh or very lonely, i dont drink daily or binge drink, its just while im drinking i feel suave and cultured ha. i find with increased recovery i cant stomach alcohol it tastes more like poison, i used to like some wine with meal but now it makes me feel ill. once in ablue moon i actually like the taste of wine but usally thers this after taste of yuk, yet i still drink it time to time. if they served juice in those pretty wine and cocktail glasses id be drinking them. i tend to do it cos of the cool shape of the glass and colour of the fluid. still i have to say, my three fav drinks are pina colada, choc-nut strawberry margarita and green tea. i had some wine and felt it bubbling in there when i picked up an aa pamphlet, alcohol is evil? hmm

Well, if you don't like it, maybe it's time to stop. Alcohol evil? A whole lot of people out there who get good things out of drinking.

Not drinking while eating was a hard one. Pizza and beer. Any Itlaian meal and a bottle of wine.

BTW, it's not the alcohol that's evil, it's what we turn into after we drink that's evil!!!

When I started AA recovery...all my fun bottles were gone.

It's not the alcohol that is evil...but
some of my actions and thoughts were certainly bad when I drank.

I am much nicer sober.

Alcohol is just a chemical, it can't be evil. It reacts with me and my chemistry to do some pretty tragic things. I don't like the mix so I don't do the mix.

Alcohol is not evil,,,,,what I did to myself and other people with it was....unlike you I LOVED the taste of alcohol.....if alcohol is no longer doing anything for you perhaps now is a good time to quit for good......

i was wondering because i have issues with food these days and was wondering if thats alcoholism or some other numbaholism. an aa member called me a dry drunk because im hooked onto food now rather than alcohol. its confusing to say the least ugh.

Well....if anyone told me I was a dry drunk....my retort...

"Better dry than wet" and walk away.

Good to see you again!

I like pretty glasses, too. I just spent an hour this afternoon cleaning wax out of this set of six candle holders of varying heights that are shaped like wine glasses...beautiful, and a pain in the neck to get clean when they're full of wax.

We use depression era goblets for holiday meals...with water, soda, milk or juice in them. If you want a pretty glass, ask for a pretty glass. Who cares if that's what juice is usually served in?

Peace & Love,
Sugah

I hear this at meetings sometimes...

"I used to drink because it made me feel good, today I don't for the same reason" -unknown
