Got a Sponsor............

Officially got a sponsor today. I had a few meetings under my belt in one location and felt pretty comfortable. In the end I decided to ask someone who had the qualities that I admire along with sobriety.

He is,

1. a Veteran
2. "Been There Done That" before I was born and was sober when I was still in high school
3. someone who won't hesitate to smoke my butt if I get out of line

Overall, I am pretty happy how the meetings are going. Will keep mouth closed and ears open a bit longer I think. If anything these meetings are great to keep you from getting complacent. Even when things are good it seems this disease can find a way to get the best of you, real sneaky in that way. For me it is simple, get lazy, get distracted, get drunk, get dead.

Thanks for the advice folks and I am doing my best with the program.

Congrats, Gideon. That's a big step and it shows your commitment. Keep going to those meetings. Now you can start to work those steps.

Awesome!

Hey, sounds like we have the same sponsor

Good going Gid. That's a serious "Step workin' move.

I hope that you find the same type of contentment that I have. Keep working at it and with it.

God Bless You...
