AA Thought for the Day

AA Thought for the Day

May 28, 2005

Hope

Hope is the key that unlocks the door of discouragement.
The program promises me
that if I do not pick up the first drink today,
I will always have hope.
Having come to believe that I keep what I share,
every time I encourage, I receive courage.
It is with others that,
with the grace of God and the Fellowship of AA,
I trudge the road of happy destiny.
May I always remember that the power within me
is far greater than any fear before me.
May I always have patience, for I am on the right road.
c. 1990 AAWS, Daily Reflections, p. 70
With permission, Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.

Thought to Ponder . . .

Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible,
and achieves the impossible.

Thanks!
I enjoyed reading this.

I'm only responsible for my side of the street and part of that responsibility lies in sweeping others stuff back to their own side of the road at times. Sure I need to become more effective and polite in the process but the job does often need to be done & I will certainly not get many accolades in doing it.

Don't have to be the garbage man any longer, nor do I have to ride the garbage truck all the way to the end of the road to know where it's going.

Thank God for AA and a greater degree of balance in my life. Living a purposeful life sure beats the alternatives for me.
