| One more question....
There is an AA meeting I usually go to tomorrow. It has a B on it which I know means beginner. Since I have only been to 5-6 meeting, do I count as a beginner? I feel so dumb asking this. Thanks, Kelli

I'm not a newcomer to the program, but even I go to beginner's meetings. You can go to any meeting you want except to a men's meeting. And even then, I guess they might let you in if you were on the verge of a drink and desperately needed one. The only requirement is the desire to stop drinking. Try lots of different meetings and you'll find your favorites. No questions are dumb questions except the ones we don't ask, is what I've always thought. |

I have this wonderful, generous older member in my home group (the meeting that I always now make once a week regardless of where I catch my other meetings) and he said to me : Many Meetings - Many Chance Some Meetings - Some Chance No Meetings - No Chance He also said a very powerful thing today after our meeting to me. We had been discussing step one and I had been sharing that at times I do wrestle with *thoughts* of giving it one last lash at drinking 'normally' (even though I know it's never gonna happen!!!) and he said : "Just remember your disease is patient. It never sleeps. And it's primary purpose is to destroy you" WOW that certainly put it in perspective for me - the danger of even dabbling in the stuff! Another 24. Love Cathy31 x |

what is certainly more cunning, baffling, and powerful than the knowledge of that danger is the memory of it failing you when you might need it the most..Don't live off the memory of a spiritual experience..get current..get NOW | |
