Meetings

Since last Friday, I've only been able to make 2 meetings... the fewest meetings I've been to since I sobered up. Waaaay too few for me personally! That stinkin' thinkin' hit me hard when I woke up today.

But I've also learned, and relearned today, how well those Tools really work.. I worked 1-2-3 again (I routinely do this) and emailed my sponsor pronto. Hence I was able to climb outta that hole within minutes of finding myself in it.

It just amazes me how attending meetings is so important. As I said, this is the first time I've been to so few, so I really didn't have a gut appreciation of this.

I am really, really, really looking forward to tonight's meeting!

Thanks Moot...

...I needed that. In fact, I was freaking out last night b/c I couldn't make a meeting, b/c of my back. Lots of pain, and couldn't drive. Will be going tonight though. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do on Sunday, b/c of everyone's schedules, I cannot make a meeting. May have to just go to sponsor's house for a while and chat -- 2 or more, that counts!

Great to see you on the board, glad you found your sanity too!

You've reminded us all why we need meetings...

Ken

Had a great meeting today - saw my sponsor celebrate 9 years of sobriety and I shared about having an alcoholic call me for support this morning (the first time that's ever happened). I was definitely grateful to be able to go.

Ken - I know this is a little late, but I wanted to tell you I'm really glad to see you back around. Sounds like you're doing everything right.

Thanks Moot, We all need to be reminded of the importance of meetings. I always feel better when I go to a meeting after missing a few days. I'm also amazed at how simple some of these solutions can be. There are so many bad things that enter my head. At meetings I get empty them out and replace them with good. I even have trouble going a few days without these boards. The thing I don't understand is I know I'll feel bad if I don't go and I still do it. Sort of like putting my hand on a hot stove, and then doing it again to see if it still burns. Glad to hear your back on track. Don W

Meetings makers make it. Is that how that quote goes? Meetings help nourish the siritual condition, which keeps us sober.
