Spiritual kindergarten
Do I want what modern day AA has no way I want what the first 103 pages of the kindergarten book AA has. Horrible sponsorship is why AA recovery rate so low lower then spontaneous remission no way if you do what the kindergarten book says you get a Spiritual Awakening no 2 million have recovered not. But if you do what religious person Layla N says and take it as literal directions you will recover. I don't owe any amends this happened in 12 years of Spiritualism In spite of AA fellowship I have recovered. But I'd ditch the religion no see were religious people are right and she is on the dot. I'll give you a clue if your gambling or watching porn don't leave until the Miracle happens then leave cuz old timers will shoot down the fact theres promises no results in every step.

So I got a home group and when the 7:00 am meeting that meets five days a week first service position was came up I didn't even make a decision my arm just flew up. The chance to help someone with 21 years set up while they make coffee is A Godsend. i ask him once the Miracle happens how do you keep it he said service and always remain honest . I love this group 25 recovered alcoholics and one recovering pigeon I know were I want to be but those badly burn don't recover overnight,
DS...the kindergarten means I am never done learning Ain't no shortcut to a better brand of sobriety to anyone else in AA or a better brand of Spirituality to any other human being
Bit yep I stick with the book cos that works for me
Have a great day friend

I love the book AA because the first time I read it I balded in tears the first time I read it there's a PATH. You never outgrow AA I'm making amends didn't use my fourth step as step eight I'm recovering theres no arrival there's just the moment
I'm reading the BB for the fourth or fifth time and it is different every time I read it. I find myself nodding more and more in agreement.
I read the Stoics and Seneca writes that in the absence of a mentor / sponsor, one should practice having a persona they admire and want to be like looking over them and witnessing everything that they do, say and think. Seneca writes that in time the person will refuse to have the faults they want to change because the appeal of the "ideal model" is so strong. (The ancient Stoics had many ideas which are compatible with the 12 Steps and CBT among others).
I have never had a Sponsor and will unlikely ever have one but I do have role models that exist in history or in fiction that display the character and attributes of the man I want to be, a "guardian angel" if you like. I use that ideal to compare with my conduct through the day, if I don't meet the standard I "coach" myself to be better.
The goal is to be a better version of yourself everyday. I'm not saying that the idea of a Sponsor is bad, being a Sponsor helps the Sponsor as much as the Sponsored in most cases. But for those that don't want a Sponsor there are alternatives if you have self discipline and a foundation of Faith.
