Yesterday was my belly button birthday. Pushing me to the mid-fourties. I certainly don't feel that old. And my wife would likely tell you I don't act that old. But five years ago, I felt like I had already wrung all the life possible out of this body, mind, and soul.
What an incredible thing to get a completely new lease on life. To effectively be reborn anew. To see things with a new pair of glasses as Chuck C would say. In my fourties no less.
No matter if I live to be 100, I'll never feel as old as I did the day I walked through the door of AA. And today, it's not that way.

I've said all along that age is just a number. With positive thinking and keeping your mind and body in shape while remaining sober, I've found that many older people can run circles around younger people!

Thanks Mike. I'll be 73 in December. Got sober when I was 34. God has granted me more years than I would have ever imagined, not to mention about a week after my birthday, I'll celebrate 53 years of marriage to my best friend who'll celebrate 40 years sober soon. I've learned not to second guess the promises. They just keep happening.
