Half Measures are to no avail

Most of us in AA have read some about it's history. For me, it was in bits and pieces. This is a link to the AA publication - Markings - The Archive newsletter.

I had never read this prior to finding some information last night about Richard Peabody and his document written in 1930-31 entitled The Common Sense of Drinking - " Half measures are to no avail"

I always appreciate the evolution of the other groups that came to form what we know as AA today. Interesting read and more to it than what I knew.

The story "A man of thirty..." found on page 32 of the Big Book was borrowed from
The Common Sense of Drinking as well.

Very interesting, FlyN. I had never heard of the Washingtonians.

Very interesting to learn the history of the Washingtonians and Oxford Groups.
This is one of the reasons why we have our AA traditions.
