form of self-deception and experimentation, they will
try to prove themselves exceptions to the rule, therefore
nonalcoholic. If anyone who is showing inability to
control his drinking can do the right-about-face and drink
like a gentleman, our hats are off to him. Heaven knows,
we have tried hard enough and long enough to drink like
other people!"

Dan:
The first couple pages of that Chapter along with the Doctors Opinion were a godsend in allowing me to diagnose myself as an alcoholic. Took a few more months for me to become a real alcoholic. I got caught up in all the treatment center addict-alcoholic, alcoholic-addict "stuff" until my sponsor took the time to open the door for me to Tradition One and Our Common Welfare coming first.
