| Nice meeting
Just got back from a meeting. My first in a while, and my first since I briefly picked up. It was really good. So much I could relate to, as usual. I shared too, only a little and fessed up to what happened. Lots of support and they didn't attach "The Stone of Shame" ..... just friendly faces and much concern. Nice people these AAs - think I'll stick with them, they're winning. I want it too. Lots of hard work ahead - and I'm ready. I'm going to phone a guy tomorrow and ask him to be my sponser - and this time I mean it. much love JC

Good meeting tonight. Had a chat with a long long timer outside before hand. He asked how I was and I said I was OK, still having the occasional battle though. He said "Why have these battles, you're not going to win." Bit of a light bulb moment revisted for me. I'm never going to beat alcohol. It has beaten me every time. Helped me a lot tonight that quick chat. much love JC

Sounds great JC! We have some oldtimers that happily flash those lightbulb moments on you. Thank God for them!

Great meeting tonight There was a guy attending, down from London for a week's holiday (8 years sober). Not only was he a Londoner (like me) he talked with lots of dialect which was really nice. I love where I live, but it was really refreshing to hear an "old school" accent. I had a chat with him during the break, talking about places and faces etc. and one of the things he said was a quote from somewhere (big book.?) "We have to replace common thinking for uncommon thinking so the uncommon thinking becomes common thinking" Spot on. I needed to hear that. My thinking and emotions are really what I have to work on. I need to get on and do step 4.

Love those light bulb moments .. it was put to me that "The war is allready over, you are out of ammunition, you lost. Why would you keep planning battles?" I sort of went .. "oh. uh doh!" lol

| Chip
I went to a different meeting tonight. A newcomer's meeting, although it was open to all. One of the people was giving out chips. I've never had a chip before so when he asked if anybody hadn't had one I put up my hand. Although I've been sober for longer than 24 hours, I was presented with one anyway - everybody clapped and I went as red as a billiard ball. Nice to have though. I'll keep it with me. much love JC
