We Have Ceased Fighting Anyone Or Anything
Time, Bosses, Buses Being Late/Early/Flying past me, People saying things about me I know are untrue to others that don't really matter to me...
What have you ceased fighting that has brought relief to you?

That quote ran through my head yesterday when I got into a discussion with a very religious friend of mine regarding the topic of "control." We differ on that topic, he said "God wants us to be in control." I thought the arguement was futile, so I backed off. I shook it off as that quote ran through my head. For over 23 years now my realization that "I'm not running the show" has helped me stay sober. Thanks
My interpretation is that i try, and it is an effort sometimes, to accept people and situations just as they are and avoid trying to manipulate outcomes.
Still need to deal with whats in front of me though and do the next right thing, taking advice and guidance if needed.
In days gone by, every day was a struggle to engineer things and people to be just the way they suited me.
Futile.

Yeah, all those many things I cannot change.
At some point for me, it has to become less about not fighting and more about finding common ground. I can disagree with anyone about anything. That's easy. But really sitting down and heating the other side and maybe allowing my ideas to be challenged, well that's revolutionary.

Im wanting for sanity to return like stay sober for five years in a row made it four once so Im not gonna get a token until I get five years thats a long ways away since I have only three days. But the tenth step promises are so true I had em then the tenth step warning about resting on your laurels heading for trouble if we do is true in my case also.

We Have Ceased Fighting Anyone Or Anything
Didn't look that way at tonight's meeting...
A member shared about having 8 years sober and about having opened the BB maybe 5-6times over the years. He went on to say although he was appreciative of Bill and Bob having started AA he could give a damn about them.
After the meeting ended one member went up to him and said what he shared was completely out of line.
The guy exploded, "**** YOU ************. YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T OR CAN'T SHARE."
Fortunately, the other fellow keep walking and the situation de-escalated.
