Taboos?

I don't know if I'd call it a taboo, but something I had to be conscious of given my own personality was the desire to do the Steps "perfectly" and to get them done quickly. One reason I used alcohol was to help me control things, and I brought that desire into sobriety, too. It took a while to learn that perfectionism is an illusion, and that I'm not running this show. The exercise of realizing that I can't control everything and that doing the Steps the best I could under the guidance of my sponsor was "good enough." I just let go of the steering wheel and did stuff when my sponsor said to, and didn't press him for when we'd do the next step.

I was going to say this! Then I thought, no, I already wrote one thing...
Thank you!
I was listening to Mark H. yesterday and he said, "The first 33 pages are really designed at looking at one thing. When you take a drink of alcohol, do you lose control?"
