When I am in a meeting and we laugh at something that is seemingly horrific in nature (an arrest, near death experience, a hugely embarrassing story, etc), I am so grateful to be in a place where this can happen. I always picture the what the faces of others in my life or in my work life would be like if I told them the same thing. I cannot speak to others in the same way or be on the same wavelength as those in AA. It's just a different thing...and thank God for that!

AMEN!!! i laugh because now i can see just how insane i was!!
ive been workin with a newcomer. i mention some of the things i had done in my past and laugh about it while the newcomer is in shock thinks im full of crap. thinks im makin it up and cant understand(yet) why i can laugh about it. i was insane and didnt even realize it!
thanks for posting this,newby. i got some work lined up today with the newcomer and hopefully i can remember to point this out.
