Big Book Quote for 1/3/2013 *~*~*~*~*^ BigBookQuote^*~*~*~*~* "Reminding ourselves that we have decided to go to any lengths to find a spiritual experience, we ask that we be given strength and direction to do the right thing, no matter what the personal consequences may be." ~ Alcoholics Anonymous 1st Edition Into Action pg. 79~ c Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, INC. |
And I've learned if I start to stagnate in my spiritual progress, God will put something in my life to kick start it again! |
This is something that I need to be on top of, or else I slip into a state where I get too comfortable, and for me to be too comfortable is to invite old prejudices and thoughts back. Doing the easy thing and doing the right thing are often not the same thing. And in taking the right way, I am bolstering my spirituality and keeping me aligned to God's will. |
I searched for the easier, softer way before. It kept me relapsing and drunk/high. You are right, Paul. If I ever question what the right thing to do is, it's generally the thing I do not want to do. |
He leads, I follow. My feelings of want don't matter to me, just what He intends I do. I am constantly rethinking my moves daily and striving to be the best person i can for Him even if I FEEL I don't want to. |
