great thread
I love AA history too
a post mentioned Bob Stonebreaker
he has been down here to NC to my home group
and he does a great job!
He also encourages us all to study AA History and
do like he does, spread it around.
We have had some big book seminars in the past, but
the AA History seminar Bob did drew the biggest crowds.

I also have a lady friend who has a sponsor (Gail) who did a
"women in early AA " history presentation which is really
good, and I think she did it at a International convention once.

I am reading When Love is Not Enough the Lois Wilson Story. The movie was based off the book but this is an authorized biography and it has a lot of details and what Lois's experienced and felt.

Good stuff.

I have only been able to find one talk done by Ebby T. (the person Bill referred to as his sponsor, and the friend to visit him in “Bill’s Story”). It’s here XA-Speakers - The lights are on! if anyone is interested. Does anyone knows of another?

I find it interesting that Ebby remembers the “kitchen table talk” differently than Bill does.

There is also a mystery about this meeting in regards to how Bill first wrote about it. He left out four paragraphs, of his own story, that were later included in the BB. The origional manuscript was missing the four paragraphs that start with the words “Despite the living example of my friend”. (the original manuscript here can be found here Original Manuscript, Chapter 1 -"Bill's Story") Bill’s own copy of the original manuscript does have these four paragraphs, however, they are handwritten in another person’s handwriting. It’s always been a mystery how these four paragraphs came to be.

Note: Bill’s personal copy of the original manuscript sold for 1.56 million dollars at auction in 2004 and reprinted with all the original annotations as “The Book That Started It All”.

Sepcifically I’m looking for speaker tapes or transcripts of talks done by Edwin T. (Ebbie). I can only find one, and that is the 1958 Memphis talk (I posted that link above). If there is a specific link for another talk or transcript please post or PM. I would appreciate it.
