Been there done that , and no it doesnt get any better out there.

So, grateful to my god to help me finally come to grips with that.

I've been there, done that countless times. I always end up back in the same pattern of spending a whole day or weekend completely drunk and numb.

Thank God I knew that I could never drink again normally, and didn't try. I knew to drink was suicide. So unless I want to kill myself, I will stay sober.

One of many favorites from the 12 &12: p 74 "until now our lives have been largely devoted to running from pain and problems. We fled from them as from a plague. We never wanted to deal with the fact of suffering. Escape via the bottle was always our solution." - someone in AA was spying on me when that was written!
