I have just got back from my meeting this evening

The Fellowship is one amazing place isn't it?
Each meeting just seems to mean more and I feel a greater serenity and oneness with my lot. I have met people I would have never ever met from all walks of life with all sorts of experiences. I have never met a group of individuals who are so different but at the core are one big family, one team with one aim, one goal.

The key message I think for me is that I am fighting a war with alcohol but I need never go into battle alone again

Go Team AA.

awesome! it felt great for me to find a group of people who had been in my shoes and had a solution for me to get a new pair.

I knew there was something about you from the first. Yeah, willing to do whatever it takes! That was what shone on through. I think your lot is as lucky as we are on SR to have you.

It's true - we are people who normally would not mix. There is a certain energy at times when we congregate and discuss the solution. There is an inherent trust and camaraderie that is built on the foundation of the common problem, and that we can sit amongst others, knowing that we are welcomed, and not judged. I sometimes like to go to meetings to just sit amongst the drunks...and say "these are my people". ha ha

Going into battle alone is mostly not a good idea. Unless you are a sniper but even then you have a spoter.

I said the same thing to the woman beside me tonight. I said "isn't it amazing how much better I feel after a meeting?" And I meant it.

the first word of the first step is We.. i guess that is why they keep telling me it's a "We" program!
