Doing Service Work.....

I'm starting to do a bit of service work. I volunteered to clean up after the annual picnic we have at the club. I realized that if no one volunteered for anything AA wouldn't be what it is today. I also talked to a distraught "soccer type" mom after a meeting who just received her 2 dui. I gave her my "slick" downtown lawyer's card and she called him. She was terrified of doing jail time & she felt much better after a consultation with him. I'm kinda interested in Hospital & Jail meetings that always need people to help out at. Although, I will wait until I have more sobriety on that one. Just thought I would share the importance of service work.

I love it , got hooked on it right away. With the first month I was coffee guy at two meetings. 2nd month cooked the grill for a couple thousand AA's at one of the many big cleveland picnics. And much more which I dont talk about , because I was taught to simply do it without telling.

Service work not only keeps me sober , its FUN and ever so rewarding. :)
