One month sobriety chip?

It's been 4 weeks (28 days) now I have not had a drink. Can I
get a "1 month" chip at the meeting tonight or should I wait
30/31 days?

BTW, it's been an awesome 3 1/2 weeks, the 1st 1/2 was rough.

If people in your group usually get one for 30 days I'd stick with that (that way in my circles), not just to be a follower but to stay a part of things. But go with your heart...

And congratulations!

To make it easier for me, I got sober on the 6th of the month so I would get a chip on the 6th of the next month. Hope this helps!

I decided to wait a couple more days to do the month chip walk.

I know the true reward(s)

Clarity of mind
Remembering the night before
Getting to work on time
Actually listening to people
Not worrying about when/where is the next drink
A relationship with my/our Higher Power
.
.
.

Thanks friends.

Good on you for your 28 days. So happy to hear that you are feeling the benefits of sobriety. Unless it is February I think it is customary to go with what Kablume posted. I got sober on the 30 th May so that is my chip picking up date each more or year.

love

If this helps you at all, I asked my sponsor's sponsor this one, when I fist came in. He has over 40 years and has been in Akron the whole time. So I took his advice

He said to just count of month on a month not days. Mine in July 15th so each 15th after that I was given my coins, and made sure to give my old ones to the person behind me. They are not my trophies to keep, just borrow.

Congrats on your time. Stay on the beam.

I did every 30 days until about 3 months, then I just went from the date 1st of the month to the 1st.

I'd say, like lots of others, to do what your heart dictates. At my home group, we give out chips for 24 hours, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and a year. It's all in how it's worded. 1 month is one month, not 30 days necessarily.

Personally, I figured out the date I stopped drinking, and just stuck to that date. I couldn't count to 30. haha*

I too go by this instead of actually counting an entire month because some are shorter than others. Lol. So I just get my coins on my actual date.
