Finally Fired my Sponsor =P - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

That sounds funny when I say it that way. Lol. I posted a couple threads a while back about inappropriate sponsor behavior and such. That in addition to just general growing apart finally led me to politely tell her that I would be asking another woman to sponsor me tonight at my home group. She said okay and that was that. I do have a feeling that she's slightly annoyed with me, but I don't really care. I have to do what is best for me.

I have no resentments towards this woman, she has helped me tremendously since I started going to AA. I'm still in touch with her and I see her at least once a week. I just felt it was time to move on.

I plan on asking another woman tonight. =) I am certain she will say yes. It feels good to stand up for myself and do what I know is right. Just wanted to share.

Kudos, way more spiritual than I was...I have had to inventory both of my previous sponsors...one of them multiple time, lol. The later has since asked me to sponsor him twice after some "research and coming to"...he's got maybe 60 days now. Re-affirms my being driven to another sponsor though.

The new woman said yes.

So I am quite pleased. With my self confidence as well as my newfound ability to stand up for what i know is right.
