| pop-culture music can aid a 4th/10th step......
You've GOT to love the title to this thread, don't ya? 1. I had "pop" music 2. I don't even listen to the radio anymore 3. The "current" onslaught of Vanilla Ice record label creations drives me nuts ....that's the background (I know....you don't know what song I'm talking about yet...lol) 4. When I found out the artist's "name" is: Gotye my eyes ROLLED about as hard as they can. "Oh please, Gotye.....and he sounds like a Sting/The Police rip off." SOMEthing about that song just kept me coming back though. As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn't get it out of my head. Enter YouTube, searching links..... found the video (which is amazing, by the way) with the lyrics superimposed on it and.......... BAM! I'm talking visceral CORE reaction. Tears literally FLEW out of my eyes. Oh yeah, I'm 43, I "hate this kind of music," I'm in a suit and I'm at work......... Gee, I wonder if there's perhaps some inventory to dig into regarding my divorce 6 yrs ago?  .....and this post..... I feel like I'm on day 2 posting in the newcomers threads!!! lol anyway, when something moves me I've learned to share it. Not sure if or who it may mean anything to.....but maybe someone. Lol..... better music? beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. I don't listen to either of those songs and get woken up to buried inventory though.

Gotye's one of my favorite artists at the moment - and there is something about that song that I connected to, too - in a way I do with so few of the songs out there these days... gotta love us Aussies  lolD

Read this last a few days ago. Watched the video. I mean the song is okay and all but one thing is for sure. I woke up this morning and it won't get out of my head. Thanks DayTrader. |
