wow

gosh......something wonderful happened to me today.....and the funny thing is (or not)...about 4 weeks ago in meditation i got the date the 16th of april in my mind very very clear...it came to me again in the evening....told a few close friends about it......today started off the same as any other.....reading with my coffee...prayer and meditation...breakfast...then out to see one of my elderly ladies i care for then off to the b&b.......got home today and picked up the mail from my door mat and there was a hand written envelope with my name on it...no address so hand delivered...it had a note inside that says
"Charmian,
i feel God has asked me to give this to you.you are a great ambassador for AA and live your life through the power of example.
you are an inspiration.
GOD BLESS."

no signature and £120......a few close friends know that the last year has been a real struggle financially....i dont recognise the writing.

blown away and very grateful.

That's pretty awesome....I guess there is no need to question where it came from.

High Praise, with action to back it up. It speaks volumes about you.

i want to...but im not going to...because i understand that the person has remained anonymous and therefore wants no praise or pat on the back for doing a good deed....they have done it purely to be kind...and i will leave them with that.

.....not sure if you SHOULD or not......but it just hit me. You could make an announcement at the next meeting that someone someone from the homegroup recently lent you a hand and you appreciate it or something like that...... I think I'd probably want them to know that you actually GOT the $.

Many many years ago in my first 18 months of sobriety a similar event happened to me. I never knew who gave me that money.

After talking with my sponsor, I did mention it in my home group, but I added this:

"and as soon as I am able, I will 'pass it on'."

I have spent the last 29 1/2 years passing it on, lmao and hopefully those I have passed it to anonymously have also passed it on.

I know others that this has happened to also and who have also passed it on.

So .................................... that 'gift' says a lot about you and your recovery!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!

So now you know, as things get better in your life, you too will see someone who needs an anonymous 'helping hand' and you too can start to 'pass it on', over and over and over.

Love and hugs,

We get to let God demonstrate through us what He can do.

Thanks for sharing.
