*~*~*~*~*^ Big Book Quote ^*~*~*~*~*

"Reminding ourselves that we have decided to go to any lengths to
find a spiritual experience, we ask that we be given strength and
direction to do the right thing, no matter what the personal
consequences may be."

"any length" is referred to earlier in the chapter "How it Works."
Quote:
.....If you have decided you want what we have and are willing to go to any length to get it-then you are ready to take certain steps.
This passage infers that we are to go to any lengths that working the steps take us.

The Sixth Step amends has meant jail to some. Applying an living the Steps in our lives has meant lost relationships (friends/family) to others. There are many times when the application and living of the steps brings us to the place where we can feel there is an "easier, softer way." Those that follow that way may have a difficult time finding a spiritual awakening. Going to "any length" in working the steps is the process that brings to light the "promises" of A.A. which bring us a new freedom and happiness.

This has been my experience, strength, and understanding of the passages involved. What are yours?
