doubt can be a killer for us alcoholics,it can paralyze us in our tracks and rob the joy of sobriety from us.Indecision and doubt was all over me when was new.My sponsor told me to make a decision and time would tell if it was right or wrong,if it was wrong don`t make it again.It5 helped kill the doubt and indecision.Pray and move on is a better path than doubt, indecision and stand still....

...when in doubt, I whip it out! Got me a rock n' roll band it's a Free for All! Noodge! Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree 24. When I start my morning off with the "On Awakening" prayer, it starts me off with "On awakening let us think about the 24 hours ahead. We consider our plans for the day. Before we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking, especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self seeking motives." That gets me pointed the right way. Add: Oh yeah, later in the 11 Step it says specifically to pause when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action. Sometimes, it's the right thought. I thought of the Nugent song too when I saw the title of this thread. To sit quietly when in doubt is not the usual alcoholic M.O. More like when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout, fix it, and figure it out. To sit quietly when the mind is racing with those kind of thoughts is not easy. To not do anything when everything in screams "Do something!" is contrary to our nature. I ask for the right thought or action, and as Tommy says, I move on with my day. The hardest part is to stay focused on what is right in front of me during the day. This is when watching, pausing, asking, and turning come into play. Jim |

Being from Michigan, you gotta be a Nugent fan. I don't agree with his politics, but his older music music from the 70's kicks some serious a**.

/shakes fist at sky NOT FUNNY GOD I DON'T FIND YOU AMUSING DO YOU HEAR ME???? HUH???? DO YOU?? YOU BASTAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!!! YOU. ARE. NOT. FUNNY!!!!!!!!! OK, omw home to crank Free for all at teeth rattling window shaking volume to insure my next door neighbors who were up late drinking start their day in the proper mind set, who knows maybe one of them, inspired by the loud music will start drinking in the morning leading to an "unfortunate series of accidents' leading to an alcoholic bottom then when he goes to a meeting because he lost his job, car, wife and home all stemming from drinking those 24 red beers because Nugent was blasting at 10 AM from a neighbors house, he recognizes me and asks me to sponsor him leading my further spiritual development leading in time to me evolving to such an enlightened plane the Dalai Lama starts coming to me for spiritual advice. All because 24 started this thread. Stranger things have happened.

If you can find them, check out these two albums. These came out before Nugent let his politics and views on sex take over his music and make him into a buffoon. Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes "Call Of The Wild" and Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes "Tooth, Fang, & Claw" These both came out in the early 70's, before "Ted Nugent" (the one with Stranglehold on it). In other words before his career took off. Both of these LP's rip. "Tooth, Fang, & Claw" contains the original version of The Great White Buffalo.

The nuge is totally clean and sober, right? I love that... he clearly loves his life... and riding his buffalo... I don't have to agree with him, my son loves him, they even exchanged letters... ![]() Doubt... I kind of like the Tao approach... detach emotionally from all the voices... consider them but don't own them... and then, of course, let go... trust God. Mark
