| a Battle of Wits, and who wins?
Please refer to The scene in the Princess Bride, Called the Battle of Wits. Its on youtube. Its halarious. And its what some of the Other current 12 step threads are like. Please watch the scene to participate in this thread. "I can clearly not choose the forum thread in front of you" They both seem like poison to me. Only if you have built up an immunity to debating on the internet, Can you prevail, just as the man in black, Had built up an immunity to Iocaine powder, So he could put it in both glasses of wine, To ensure victory. I have placed my poison in Two other curent threads in this Messgaeboard. But I have established an immunity To Iocaine powder. Its odorless, tasteless, And dissolves instantly in any liquid. Remember, the winner of the battle of wits Was the underdog's, the man in blacks idea, And it succeeded in saving the girl from Being held prisoner to the Sicilian ring leader. Wouldn't be as funny of a movie if The men would just let the girl decide Which man she would like to be prisoner of? No, that would be boring, even though rational. My point is, Sometimes we can become prisoners Of our own words, even though It was our sole intention to help Others, our words were definately Not received or interpreted correctly. Could be our fault for transmitting them Improperly. In any event, The wise thing to do is perhaps Refrain from playing in a battle of wits, Unless you are confident you can end up the winner. And its too bad you lost, You should have known That no man's wits are any match To the mind of a sicilian!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAA *falls over dead*

I think we all have felt that way at some point around here.

As long as I am clean & sober I win. Everything else, for me, is mostly a matter of respecting each other's opinions, and there are no 'losers', or really... not even any battles. I like to express points and debate, but when it comes down to it... if I like the smell of sawdust and someone else doesn't - they are not wrong, if I like the color blue and they don't - they're not wrong. People can draw their own conclusions. For me there doesn't have to be a winner and/or a loser anymore. Just different people seeing things in different ways. Serenity & acceptance? |
