| same planet...different world | Well... I must be back.
Hi, everyone! The Infinite decided to send the neighbor back out of town for another event-filled weekend elsewhere - and the FIRST thing I do is come back to SR! I've made almost every meeting this week, one day not because I couldn't afford the gas to go. So I passed a sheet around with the heading "Barb Dwyer needs a ride to meetings... if you can help, please leave your number. Thanks" Everyone who had a vehicle put down their #. How sweet!!!!! No disruption, no scene about it, just passed it around while everyone else talked about their problems with alcoholism. And a HUGE thing for me to just up and say 'Hey, I need a hand here." We grow in this program. We change in this program. We heal in this Program. And we need each other in this Program. No WONDER we want it for everyone who suffers. I must be 'back'. And I was asked by someone to be their sponsor.. So I said okay. For those who remember - I stopped taking on sponsees when I got sick. I felt so ill, I truly believed that I shouldn't exert the extra energy to do my best for them. Yeah. I second - guess that decision as well. But I try to never feel bad about decisions I make when I've prayed about it and truly believe I am doing the right thing. ANYWAY - I've a new sponsee. She's going to call me later we'll probably meet tomorry. So of COURSE I had the initial 'panic attack' when I got home - ![]() You know what I'm talking about - the nervous crap we run in our heads 'omg where do we start - I've forgot the parts of the book' you remember - the 'yadda yadda' we do to keep ourselves unhappy. But I got over it pretty quick because I'd made an 'index' of page numbers and what I called my 'Step to stepping'... I'm not above tricking myself into doing the right thing. ![]() Enough for now thanks for reading. Hugs to everyone!

hi, {{Astro}}} Good to see you, as well! Yes! I felt the same; thinking to myself 'wonder if I ought to do some kind of 'step revue' for myself - ... so now I can.

Well, My friend is home from the hospital, she's a good bit older than me, but we get along great. She's thoroughly enjoying her pain medication. We had a good itme. She quit drinking when she had a brain annyeurism - sp? (ann-your-is-im) so that pretty much made up her mind and she's been sober ever since. wow! did you know if you hit the 'ctrl key and an 'i' ... you get italics???? I did not. Until this very moment. wow. (I can hear all you 'designer' types laughing at me.) My sponsee called while I was out visiting .... I'm grateful for that. Means she's serial. All in all - another good day. Being sober And not drinking are two completely different worlds. I prefer the first one.

Good to see you back on SR Barb. It looks like your HP is working wonders for ya. Getting a sponsee, rides to meetings. I'm glad things are going well for you.
