i have some true friends in A.A. today.. people that are more like family to me than i would have thought possible.. A.A. was always about survival to me.. but.. now it has become much more! it is now about survival and watching my life and the lives of my friends get progressively better one day.. one step at a time! thank god for A.A. and friends in the program..

Yes....I agree.....: ![]() My AA frienships are very important to me. I also have friends outside of AA. My dearest friend and I have known each other about 45 years. We met as drinkers...she mostly quit...I did. She does not drink when we visit. Same is true for another old friend of 50 years. In my neighborhood of senior citizens....4 of us keep in daily contact. We often do things together ...we've met each others local family members....share memories and giggles. I like to have a balance in my social circle.....

Amazing how people in my meeting have become some of my really good friends. For me my meetings have really brought me out of isolation..
