| Member | Made amends after 2 years of thinking about it
I made an amends tonight. I have been sitting on this one for 2 years. It was to an ex-boyfriend. I knew I was willing if I ever saw him, but was pretty sure I would never run into him. I found him on FB and sent him a message. He replied. I called and made amends. I don't remember ever being that nervous. Boy am I glad it's done and over with. If I ever do run into him I can now look him in the eye. Amazing. |

You didn't expound on what his reaction was but you know, it really doesn't matter. You did what you did for you, not for him so all that matters is that you did it and how you feel about it. That's the great news about this step.

Honestly, I was surprised that he even returned my message. There was a lot of hurt at the end of our relationship. He was 3 years sober when we met and I guess had worked the steps so he understood amends. He was very receptive and even made a few little amends himself. Thanks for your message Music. |

tanyapmc, Good work. For others who come here to this thread to read how you made this amend can you expand on what you believe an amend is and why it was important for you to complete this process with this individual? Your experience will help others and you , especially if you are continuing to working Step Nine. Thanks!
