| the tornado
last weekend I got a phone call from a friend.Jim died.Jim was a old drinking buddy from many years ago. I went to the funeral home Sunday night.I walked in and saw his dad, sister,ex wife and children and friends. I talked with them all as usual.I felt funny as I left. Then over the next 24 hours, thought came.I began to see a few things.I began to see how I used Jim for money, booze and drugs those many years ago.In doing so,I harmed his marriage, wife and 2 small children to some extent. It never dawned on me before to look at his family when writing out a 8th step list.It took this for me to see it. I just feel like I got a good dose of the big book part where it says "we are like a tornado roaring our way thru others lives. It opened up a new area to look for amends I guess.Anyway,I have been praying about this today. I might have to talk with his ex wife(who is a friend of my family) about this |

Eye openers...... you know I have always felt that God will not dump on us any more then we can deal with at one time...... this awakening I would call an opportunity for some 9th step amends. My condolances on your friends passing.
